    Default I just bought an '82 Capri bodied go-kart.

    Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

    A little background;

    For the last 15 years, I've been keeping an eye out for a '79 Pace Car go-kart. Either the price is too high when they pop up, or it's too far to travel. I actually have the brochures from who made the karts, but have never (so far) found one.

    Then a couple of days ago, this kart pops up on craigslist. They list it as a Mustang, but something didn't look right to me. So upon studying the pics, I see it has a hood like the PPG car, and fender flares. It also has side window decals replicating a Capri, and not a Mustang.

    This morning I go to look at it, and it does have a "Mustang" sticker in the rear, like a licencse plate. It also says it's a Mustang on the factory build sticker. It's not in perfect condition, but it's complete and original.

    Now I want to find out more info on it. Has anyone here ever seen/heard of the Capri go-karts? In all the years searching for the Pace Car version, I have not run across one of these. Any info or literature on it would be great!

    I'll get more pics in the next few days.

    The graphics on the lower body look like the ones from the 1980 mustang cobra Motorsport giveaway. I'll post pictures later.

    It has a Ford Motorsport sticker above the "windshield". The side decals remind me of the GT40 artwork that used to be on all Ford's parts packaging.

    I wonder if it would even be possible to find NOS decals for something like this. I know I can have them made if I decide to restore it. I may decide to keep it in unrestored condition. Depends on how well it cleans up.

    Yeah, that's an Enduro GT/M81/"Motorcraft Image" bodied car, not a Capri, despite the sail panels.

    That is freaking cool.

    I see this post is a little old, but I happened to find one of these bodies!! #6. I'm not sure how many were produced either. In the 9 years since the last post on this thread, the internet hasn't learned anything else?!
