    Talking Turbo GT Bucktag! (1983)

    Code:
    MUSTANG
    211520 61B W MO 0297(Z?)
    9D TT DF ST
          03
    GT BR MBW 05
    ELECTRIC-A NLR
Also, stamped over the top of it are four more characters.

Between the GT and over the 2nd E in ELECTRIC there's an S (larger than the other characters, loops like it was struck after the rest of the tag was embossed). Past the end of the NLR there's an L mostly in the same plane.

Below the 9D there's an E and below it a P, rotated about 90* to the rest of the tag (so the "backbone" of the E is underlining the D.)

This is, to the best of my knowledge, a radio delete, normal locks, normal windows, factory sunroof, 9D/1C, 2.3T. (also known as a true moment of automotive zen... as soon as I get it running right)

    Yep, confirmed, R: Y

Prior owner said he'd installed the radio, and that statement is sadly, true. Two speaker holes in the quarter panel covers, and a bit of a gnarly radio hole up front.

//still gotta get it running, then I'll mourn the radio hole, and the recaros getting recovered and having their heads lopped off.

I feel for you. I have been looking for quarter covers to replace my cut up ones.

    Does the care have...

    tinted glass (not aftermarket)?
light group (light in glovebox, front ashtray, and underhood)?
    tilt steering?
    delay wipers?
    standard or metric (TRX) wheels?

I do not recall tint (I'm not at home right now, and I've just barely started sorting out underhood, so I'll update this as I can)

    No light group

    No tilt steering

I believe it's got the same stalk with the twist on the end of it, so yes for delay wipers

It had TRX wheels, but prior owner got rid of them, put on some 10-holes. (could be worse)

It amazes me how they would order AC on these cars but no Radio. Mine is the same way.

Air conditioning was not ordered on this car. There is no "AC" code on the Body/Buck Tag.

Yep, the AC code is used for paint on non-AC cars, same deal with my V8 83GT. Will update thread tomorrow with rest of questions, was at Neil's BBQ today.

Starting in late January or early February of 1983, the "A/C" column on the VC Label was used for tape stripe color instead, even if air conditioning was ordered.

The '85 and later VC Label (engineering number in lower left corner beginning with "E5") had a "TAPE" column instead of A/C. From all of the tags I have seen so far, the "E5" label wasn't used on Capris or Mustangs until the '86 model year.

Update, after driving the car a bit more, it does not have the infinitely adjustable wipers. It has "off" and "on" and "really on".

The sunroof has a touch of mirroring to it some days, which could be really old factory tint.

The windshield is aftermarket, so I can't comment as to the original glass.
