Ouch! Man that hole is big enough to put two heater cores in. Maybe that's a good idea...put two in that spot with both sets of tubes sticking through the firewall, and if the first one goes bad, you can just takes the hoses off in the engine bay and switch them over! What a great backup, and it would really save you next time! Well, it was just a thought, since you had that huge hole. Good luck, looks like a helluva job.

Did that actually produce any heat when the core was hooked up? What a hack job. Have fun with the wiring. I'm not looking forward to that part of putting mine back together.

Up here we call it "Lebanon Chrome"
They also have the "lebanon locker" (better known as lincoln locker)

Lebanon is a small town bordering us with no PD, Town Maint. Etc etc.

Good luck with your Dash endeavor! Hopefully there are no spare screws when done!

Who was the previous owner Freddy Kruger! Man they really hacked that up!

Good Luck with the repairs. I certainly don't envy that repair.

Man, that's bad. Hopefully the wiring won't be too bad. The shop that replaced the heater core on my uncle's '84 Cougar did it the same way, but he didn't find out until years later.

Well, things were going well, I got the dash out, and the new harness is just about all secure, this was the mess to start with.

Don't you just love the Ford connectors!

I swear sometimes I believe they were designed to be a one use only. They hold up great until you have to take them apart and then sure enough you break them taking them apart! Planned obsolescence by Ford!

Looks like you are making great progress! Good Luck with the rest!

This car has been a thorn in my side for the better part of 10+ years but it finally seems to be running OK now, not perfect but its going places after sitting in the driveway for a LONG time over the past decade lol.
