    Default Picked up another SVO

Ok...I have a problem. I now have 4 SVOs. Picked up an 86 this past week about 15 minutes from the house. The car is solid, no dents or dings. The only rust is along the inner seams inside each door and it's not much. Missing the spats and cargo cover, that's it. Factory stereo still works(speakers are shot). It does need paint as you can tell by the pics. I got a really good deal on it. The only issue is with getting the title. It's a long story, but I am pretty positive I will be able to get it. Even if I can't, I will make this into a dedicated track car...which is something I've always wanted to do.

Nice find. Interesting how cars of interest often show up nearly in one's back yard.

Well Kendall...I guess you could say I was inspired by my trip to Alabama. I'll get you the VIN sometime this weekend, it is scary though...the last 3 in the VIN are 666.

I've seen one in a back yard and its white if I'm sure. I heard its a pain in the butt to find parts for these cars and if you do. They will cost you alot more money. Is that true or is that a alot of b.s.

Depends what parts are missing. Mechanically, there are very few differences between any of the 2.3 Turbo Fords of the day. Suspension wise, there are modern options if the stuff gets worn out. The real big problem is that dang outer passenger marker light, if that goes or is gone, you will spend some dough replacing it. Interior parts can still be found here and there. They are like any other car, you have to weigh what the car cost and what it will take to get it where YOU want it...not what it will take to make money. These cars are a blast to drive and if you've got one close that you possibly could buy, I would at least find out the price and details about the car and anyone on here would be glad to let you know what you would be looking at money wise to fix up whatever needs fixing up.

We seriously need a "family portrait" of your rides.

    Now THIS is a collection.

    Very nice.

That's awesome...I really like these cars. A guy I work with has one in pretty good shape and rarely if ever drives it...just sits in his garage. I'd buy it off him but he's one of those guys that wants WAY too much for stuff...besides, he's also super annoying and I can't stand to talk to him for more than 5 minutes lol

    That's a great find, by the way...I'm jealous !

Ok, maybe I need to spend some time in your back yard. Nothing but rust here.

where did you pick it up at? I've never seen another svo around here until the other day when I was coming back from greensboro. saw a nice yellow one (obviously had a paint job). since joining svoca, I've noticed there are a lot of svo's in nc. we all need to get together sometime. maybe have a track day.

The guy who owns the Ford Place in Asheboro has a nice 86 that he bought in Thomasville. There is an 86 sitting behind the dealership. It needs a lot of work and a tech that works there owns it. Might be worth swinging by and asking. I also saw one on the G'boro craigslist last week. No pics though.
