Right so now that things have mellowed out I have aranged to get the svo back on the dyno hopefully monday late in the morning. This time I have the brown top injectors, PE ecc, and the 3" exhaust. Depending on the time available I want to try diffenernt boost levels so it should be interesting!

Good luck with the pulls. I will have mine back together this next week. Hopefully I will have some track outings and maybe a pull at the dyno soon. I am hoping for some mid 400s with my combo but we will see.

Impressive numbers with the light mods you have done.

DanielFrew-what mods do you have done to make mid 400's?

Stock short block, 75lb/hr injectors, 255 pump, Gen three bobs log (1" back from center), 65mm TB, bob lee ported radiused lower, custom tube upper, iron d ported, flowed and assembled by Boport, Boport 2.5 cam, adjustable cam gear (straight up for now, was retarded 2 degrees), 50 trim t3/4 stage three wheel (soon to be SC-6162), 3" mandrel bend exhaust from turbo to bumper, AFPR (40psi base), LS-2 coil packs and MSII V3. All I have left is to run a few wires and install the MS and it will be good to go. I will be running the car at 24-25 lbs of boost. This should get me into the 400 range or very close on pump gas. I have a meth injection set up that will make it onto the car if I decide to run any more boost. After bending a couple of rods on the last build I will make some changes to my tune before running the 30+ lb of boost again.

Ok no more excuses, I am all signed up for april 26th for my hour on the dyno. Things to do to get ready is put new plugs in, swap intercooler cores, and get fresh fuel. The big thing is going to get my AFR under controle and try for some more boost just to see what she'll do... Will post pics and video...

All I have to say about that is OMG! I love the video of it running but I didn't think his curves would look like that...

New plugs are in, intercooler core is swapped, and dad cleaned up my battery cables. I can't freaking wait!!!

    Nice ....

Since you have access to a dyno like this, lean it out with more boost ... You get up around 17 psi and it should still fall in safe and be very responsive.

I would also suggest an adjustable timing gear. I have found ET & MPH on every cam I have ever run with one (Engle 55, A237, 86 SVO, Ranger Roller, and a numbe rof Bo's cams). You can really dial in how the boost comes and where the power goes to with one.

    Videos will be uploaded later....

Well it just goes to show that the old butt'o-meter and the dyno don't always agree. I really thought my peak numbers would be greater and my AFR was going rich. But as you will see, my AFR was about perfect for a stock computer. On the first run cam was mostly checking on the AFR even held it at 60mph just to see if it was rich.

So on the first run I picked up 5hp and 5tq over last time I was on the dyno.

The second pull was the same, so I added a pound of boost for 15spi and got my best numbers on the thrid pull.

On this run I picked 20hp and 29tq over last time.

We decided not to push it beyond this because it was really lean at the start of the pull and even had a little detenation. So with running no knock sensor It just didn't seam wise to push an already strong motor. On the street 1st and 2nd gear spinn now.

But after looking at my first ever pull and the 15psi pull I made today I can see where the exhaust made a massive difference. Right at 3k rpms you can see where I picked up 25hp with 40tq and you sure can fell it!

So in the end I picked up a buch of power in mid band where I need it and still had 20hp and 29tq peak gain overall.

Very nice!! I am looking to see where my weak spot is, I mean apart from a 27 yr old engine that hasn't been rebuilt...I am curious you mentioned you ported your lower, any pics of that, I am guessing that has helped a bit getting more air in, also in your head port, how much did you cut out, or did you just gasket match the head?

You are making a bunch of power on the stock turbo at very low PSI. The stock 86 was rated at 200 FW at about 15psi, you are at 204 WHP. You sure your turbo gauge works right?

My 85 lays down 225/286 at 15psi for reference. But I have a hybrid turbo, lightly ported big valve head, 3", and ported E6/inline intake.

Great #s you have for sure!

Nice numbers for an early motor with minor mods. Are you still running the stock early cam? I think you would see some nice gains with a cam swap once you work out the fuel.

Any idea why the hp/tq graphs didn't cross at 5252 on your first pull?

Desi, I did not do any porting to the car. When we built the motor, it looked like the lower manifold had been worked on because you could see the marks inside and it matched the gasket. As for the head I was going to open up the intake and exhaust ports but after measuring them I realized someone had already beat me to it. But the chambers and the valves are stock, as is the E-6 manifold.

Ya they are mike, thats just a little creepy. The only difference is the shape of the curves and where yours comes on.

The down elbow on the turbo is stock with the merkerdepot 3"down pipe attached to it.

As far as I know the autometer gauge is working correctly. The only thing that might make sence is if charly gave me a bit more work on the turbo than just a stock rebuild.

I am actualy running a new 86 spec cam. As for the graphs not sure why they don't cross other than I had him stop the pull at 5k rpms.

the scaling for the hp and tq are different from side to side on that pull only.

That still seems weird. The RPM scale is the same for both so they should cross at the same spot if they are on the same scale or not.

no it's right. i looked at it for awhile too. the left side of the graph shows the increments for hp, the right side shows tq and they are not the same values from side to side like the other graphs are. near 5252 rpm they are both around 189.
