Agreed, again. THE EXP or LN7 that I want is an 83 LN7 GS. No joke.

A friends mom had one as recent as '94 or '95.I think it was an '86 or so,it was fuel injected, and I had to replace a fuel pump on it.Was set up like the dual pump SVO's.Every now and then you see them in the junkyards out here. I always liked the rear fascia, and would wonder if it would interchange onto my '88 Escort GT.Sadly, that car got rear ended and totalled before I could find out. And ,yeah,I always thought they had the Bubble Hatch look to them, also.

Love those little cars! Esp. the early ones. Would like to find a turbo version. 83 or 84 I think. They look great converted to RWD with some big meats on the back. I think Bob Glidden had one as a Pro Stock in the early 80's.

I bought an 83 LN7 new from the Mercury dealer for my wife who still drives it. It is garaged and never goes out in snow, road salt, or rain and so it still looks close to new and runs like new.

In a couple of years when I start collecting social security, I may be interested in buying your car as a spare car to ensure we can keep my wife's LN7 going for the rest of our lives. Your car would also be garaged and I'd attempt to keep it going also and only raid it for a part for my wife's car if I could not find the part anywhere else.

Please email me at 78markv at g9mail (remove the "9") dotcom with your email address and any other contact info you are willing to give me so I can stay in touch.

    Thanks

Now now -- you read my earlier post -- but ... ummm ... since you're new around here ... we'll let it slide.
Around here, I get first crack at any LN7 or EXP that comes up for sale. It's an official rule. Okay okay, not really. I just made that part up -- but it should be an official rule.

The LN7s and EXPs were neat little cars. They performed well because of their power to weight being decent in spite of the small 4 bangers FLM installed in them at the time. Handling was quite impressive for the time because the cars were so light. It takes a lot of mods to make a foxbody mustang handle as well.

Had a few friends with EXPs and LN7's. I nearly bought one instead of my 86GT but in the end couldn't find one that was a good enough deal before I found my Mustang.

Great and practical cars. Lots of people ran the wheels off of them much like the related Escort and Tempo and Topaz cars.

One of a few very unique cars.

One car that's also unique that I wouldn't mind seeing another one of is the mid-80 Mercury Topaz diesel. My aunt and uncle had one with a 5 speed. It got around 40 mpg of fuel on the highway all the way back in the mid-80's -- which is nuts.

I'd sho swap one. I bought a black one for $100 when I was about 17. I ended up just taking the tires off and throwing them on my sister's tempo then junking it. It was a black with grey interior.

Could someone please help me? I'd like to post to a Facebook group for EXP & LN7 owners that I'm interested in buying a 1983 Mercury LN7 & if anyone there has one for sale or knows of one for sale to please email me (If someone here can help me, contact me please & I'll give you the name of the Facebook group).

I'd do it myself except that I don't want to join Facebook because it asks for too much personal information.

If you can help me with this, please email me at 78markv at g9mail(remove the "9") dot com. Thanks very much.
