    Default 1980 Granada -- Thoughts?

It's Grandma with a little flair ---- or so he says.

He also says that he wants $5,000 for this ride.

I'd prefer one from the model years with round headlights ---- but this is cool.

You're right, I think it's cool too. I like the colors but I'm a little off in that department. $5000 seems a little steep to me but I suppose it's worth what ever someone is willing to pay for it. I think the scoop has to go too. But otherwise it's cool, I think the rims look sharp and that is one clean interior.

I agree with you for the most part.

I'm wondering about the carpets. Is the color off because of the camera or is the color really off?

    Love the rims.

    Am okay with the scoop.

I think the guy kinda nailed the description, too.

That carpet color has to be off. It looks like a replacement carpet. Rarely does an original roll up like that. Look at the pic where you can see the "hump" in the back seat. The carpet seems to be all wrinkly. But, still I likey. Not $5000 likey, but still cool.

Yeah, the carpet should be the color of the carpet on the door panels. If any one is interested in this car I could go look at it for them.

Dburdy, I think you should buy it! It would fit in with your vintage look.

Me likey. Nice scoop and all the colors are killer. I bid all the govt's TARP funds -- better use of them anyway.

Well I have to admit...it looks a heck of a lot better than I expected. I love hood scoops but that one needs to be replaced. IIRC its a J.C. Whitney special.

I've read the posts over and over ---- but it just hit me that you said "Lincoln Versailles" ---- especially since most people have never heard of one much less seen one!

    Wow.

And I want one bad. Most that I ever see come up for sale are rust buckets. There's a place in Clearwater called LincolnLand that I visit from time to time. They end up with a lot of "time capsule" (luv tht term) cars (mostly Lincoln Mercury cars).

You're funny and you make me laugh.

So, if this isnt a grandma car, how would it feel at home next to Lincolns and Cadillacs?

Question for you though: Is the SdCCC going to collect funds to PAY for this car? I'm not made of money, ya know.

And I was thinking. As much as I love time capsules, I need something with some real muscle.

    My non-existent cool-factor is slipping.

    1) im more worried how its gonna feel at home with an x-90

    2) SdCCC gets its money from cookie sales. but only if the cookie monster doesnt eat the profits.

    3) muscle is good. the 5oh in a 5000000lb beast shouldnt be that slow.

    4) you could be 1000000x cooler dude if you replaced that x-90 with an H1

Actually ---- and I'm really serious about this one ---- but I'd like to have some type of a PA sound system that would play the sound of The Jetsons car.

I could just see me pulling into a car show and having it make that sound.

There's a really good custom car guy around here. You just tell him what you want and pay him by the hour. I'll bet he could do it.
