he is running a "business", small or not, there are certain basic tenets that must be met. If he was selling bolts, he would have been out of business a long long time ago. As a consumer, we have no choice but to "take it" , we cannot go somewhere else to buy another bolt in this particular case. That's the definition of a monopoly, he controls completely the product in question.
nuff said on my part as well. I don't believe this is trashing, just an expression of opinions, its the American way.

If you ordered something in May, follow up. Don't still wonder where it was in August. You have the right (and responsibility) to follow-up on a regular basis until you get an answer.

Kevin has people calling him all day asking stupid stuff like "how many miles did the second owner of my car put on it?". No lie! Give the guy a break.

    Ok, I'm done.

I agree with you. Regardless of the size of the business, there is a thing called customer service. Letting a customer know what it going on with there order when it's been months is not too much to ask for. Telling a customer your going to do something, not following thru with it, and then not letting them know it's going to be longer then expected is also not too much to ask for. It's understandable that he is kept very busy, but there are certain business practices that are just part of taking care of the customer in a proper manner.

Most of the comments i've seen on here are just people posting what they have experienced or are experiencing. Some good, some bad. That's just people voicing their views and opinions. Surely wouldn't say that anyone here has trashed them.

I'm not sure why everybody seems to be giving Kevin Marti such a hard time!! I've been dealing with him for years and have had nothing but good luck with him. One time, a girl working for his company actually called to ask me if I had the build sheet for my car, since they wanted to double-check something. I've always found them to be very detail-oriented and prompt.

If I had any advice for my fellow Mustangers, I would suggest calling Marti Autoworks directly and tell them what you would like to do. I never email them, I always call them.

To vascj and 02pnygt, maybe "trashing" was the wrong word. You were voiceing your frustrations, I understand. I was really only asking you to give Kevin some grace. He's trying to balance running a business and be profitable with keeping these invoices alive and get them in the rightful owner's hands. He's not making any or much money on them. Look at my previous post on the Mustang II invoices. That guy has had them in his monther's basement for over 11 years. 200 boxes and he can't sort them out and get them in the right hands. He took people's money though.

    Thumbs up

I have a sad story in regards to these items...

I ordered 1 for each of my 4 cars(Only found for 2 cars) on Sept 14 th, I saw that payment had been taken on Sept 21, I received the tracking Number from Marti, which showed that the package had been delivered on the 23rd....

Here is where the sad part comes in, even though it shows the package delivered it never actually arrived

Marti Autoworks has been fantastic through this and are sending me out "hard copies" as well as scanning and emailing me these copies which you will see below.

The sad truth of the matter is that they have to make a living with the invoices that are readily available and over time as resources allow will hopefully be able to sort through the horrific mess of files pertaining to our cars!

I have been nothing but pleased with the customer service at Marti, and look forward to the time when I can get anything else they can provide on my cars...

I had originally thought that Marti sold recreations of the invoices, and once I found out from them that was not the case, The post office lost the only originals in existence my heart sank as its possible a part of history is gone forever

Just remember they are doing us a service, they did not need to take on such an astronomical task for such a small group of enthusiasts....

Please do some math for argument sake 75% the 4 eyed enthusiasts are members here (by that I mean people who would actually purchase these documents) no then you look at the numbers of cars sold between 1979-1986 .....

I would assume that it is a tiny percentage of sale-able invoices in a massive number that will be of no value to them....

The really cool thing which I have found out is that Virginia Ann is a world traveler that started live in Honalulu!

And Ruby Ann started life in the Pacific Northwest!

According to UPS, I should have my Eminger Invoice for my ASC/McLaren 'vert tomorrow. It should arrive with the Elite report and invoice for my coupe.

I understand that it can take a while to process the order. I placed the order in June and heard nothing until 3 weeks ago when I received a phone call out of the blue. I was being notified that they found both invoices and wanted permission to charge my CC for them and the Elite report. If it all arrives as promised, I will be a happy camper.

I thought of that. Unfortunatly, it looks like they have been gone for awhile. Google Earth showed what looked like a former dealership at that address. It's now a Comcast service center.

Your invoices are really cool. Your jade car has some interesting options just like my car has (Sport Option, Lower Bodyside Protection, Heavy Duty Battery, etc.). Turbo Four, Four-speed, TRX Coupe --- very neat and cool car.

The small-town dealer where I bought my car went out of business in 1980. The building is still there, but has been used for several other purposes over the years. However the owner of the dealership is still in the area, he has had a successful insurance business for many years.....

A few years ago when I got my car "done", my folks took some pictures to him and asked if he remembered selling the car (remember, it's a very small town). He did remember, and made some comment along the lines "Well if anyone would have taken a car from back then and kept it and restored it, it doesn't surprise me that it would be Bob." I guess I had a reputation as a car guy way back then.

It's funny... they only sticker $57 apart. Auto and A/C are the big ticket options on yours while the Turbo 4 and TRX are the big ones on mine

It is kind of amazing what they can dig up. I originally ordered just the deluxe report and found out that my car was 1 of 8 with the same paint/trim codes. It thought that was cool. With the elite report, mine was 1 of 2 Dark Jade Metallic coupes w/ the turbo4 that had black leather seats.

One thing that I noticed on my invoice and the window sticker. Both say "Ask your salesman about genuine Ford radios - Make your choice before delivery" Could that mean that my car did not come with a radio? One isn't listed on the window sticker like the others I have seen.

Thats cool that you some of you guys are getting the original invoices for your cars. But do you think that they would have them for the other Foxes as well. Like the Fairmonts and Zephyrs? or is it just a Mustang thing?
