I'm the second owner of my 52000mi. '79 Capri. The lady who bought the car new swears the A/C is factory installed and the only service to it has been a recharge by the dealership where she bought it new. When I replaced the heater core, I found the wiring has been spliced into for the compressor control at the heater controls. The new wires run out to the ambient temp sensor and then on to the compressor. They are spliced into the harness using the cheap blue inline squeeze connectors. There are no other wires in the harness that could even have been used to control the compressor. I will clean up the mess and solder the wires as they should have been done from the start. What gets me is there are no cut, terminated, or dangling wires anywhere. Has anybody ever seen this on a '79??
