Default Anyone ever see a EXP GT?

Has any one ever saw a EXP GT? My friend had a real nice one in the early to mid 90's.He had the window sticker also.It had a front bumber like a 79-82 Mustang GT but it was riveted on painted rivets and it had a rear spoiler that stood straight up.It also had a exhaust tip like a 83 or 84 Mustang GT and TRX aluminum mags.

I have a 83 Mercury LN7 GS with 1.6L HO and TRX package. It was the first new car I
ever bought. It's sleeping in the garage buried under 10 years of dust. I have plans to
make it a turbocharged pocket rocket someday.

~~make that 15 years of dust.

    How time flies!

I had an 1987 EXP. It was the sporty version with the 1.9 HO, 5 speed and aluminum wheels. It wasn't called a GT though. Nearly the same color combo as the one above.

The lesser EXP's had the CFI 1.9L, automatics and steel wheels with hubcaps and trim rings.

Are there still any of those EXP turbos around, I know they made them in '84 or so.. don't know for how long. I wonder how many were even made. Either way, those were a sweet little car.

I have a 1986 EXP. It is the sport coupe. The lesser model(oddly) is called the luxury coupe. The EXP turbo was just called the EXP turbo, not EXP GT. I have a lead on two of them, but one is "not for sale" and the other is pretty rough and a bit parted out. I can't find the owner of it and I fear it is about to go to the crusher, since the crusher is parked about 15 feet from it.

Also, I feel that pacefever should sell me this LN7 of his, and dust included please

Hah, never! I'm too attached to my LN7. I got mine because it was so odd.
Bob Glidden was running a big block EXP around then that I got to see run
at the Spring Nationals. In case you never got to see that crazy machine it
would launch on one wheel Mine is bright red like the EXP above and it has
a Capri style bubble back window. It only has about 70k miles on it because
the head cracked and I just parked it and got a new Ranger. A few interesting
tid bits, my HO has a 2bbl carb and a factory shorty header, she was peppy. I
recall getting a ticket doing 105 in it. The cop was impressed enough that he
wrote me up for 85 and called it a day. This was back when cops still had a
sense of humor. Ah, the good old days.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I think the "HO" had an aluminum Hemi head. Don't quote on
that, but I think it was a different head than your garden variety Escort head. That was
why I parked it when the head cracked.

All CVH engines had an aluminum head, and all 1.6s were a hemi head, as well as all 1.9 HOs. Your head would be the same as any non HO EXP or LN7. I believe what made it HO was the 2bbl carb and the header, though I may be a bit wrong there. Can you post up any pictuers of you LN7?

Well, like I said, it's been 15 years since I messed with it

I don't think I have any old pictures, but I'll dig through the scrap book and
see. The car is buried under all sorts of stuff, it sort of became shelf space
after a while. So I can't take a picture of it.

My friend had a non-ho '87 variety in black, cool little car.

I don't suppose you would have any pics? There is about a 98% chance that it was just something somebody did in the 80's.
