Default Timing Cover Dowel Pin Missing

I'm in the midst of prepping an Exploder engine to go in my 86 Capri. I'm changing the cam, swapping the oil pan and the timing cover.

The original 86 5.0 had the normal 2 hollow pins to align the timing cover. The Exploder engine only had the passenger side pin and I am pretty sure the Exploder engine had never been apart. It has the counterbores for the pin on the drivers side but no pin.

Anybody else seen this kinda thing?

Probably dropped out when it came apart.
