Lots of pretty boxes. Mine looks that way from Steeda.

Scared to open them..lol...So much work...The subframe connectors on going on tomorrow. This will give me a good solid place to put jack stands while I do the rear axle and front suspension.

At least yours is NOT an Ohio saltwagon. If it weren't for the floorboards saying STOP on the bottom side, I wouldn't have any. I was quoted $4000.00 just for the bodywork to bring it back to servicable condition (if it weren't for the rarity of this car, I would have scrapped it a long time ago).
I am doing the Watts Link/Tri-link conversion in the rear and Tubular K-Member front. Already have the M2300k brakes, Steeda weight Jacker rear LCAs, all Poly bushings, Tokico Illumina adjustables, Racecraft 2" drop SN95 spindles, Steeda Bumpsteer kit, Subframe connectors with the X brace and driveshaft safety loop, and a bunch of other suspension parts.
I am also in the middle of converting a Volvo head for use on a 2.3T to drop into this car, along with a Holset HX35/40 hybrid.
Keep up the good work; I like your car and maybe sometime when I get mine done I could cruise down for a GT Turbo photo shoot!

Sounds like you have a butt load going on as well. Yeah, I am very fortunate to have a rust free car.

I would love to get them together and compare the different suspensions. And of course a photo op.

The car is at the shop now having the Full length Sub-frame connectors installed.

Nice; I am going out to the garage now to remove the stock front suspension and work on getting the rear-end ready for media-blasting and powdercoating.

    Ready for surgery

Spacers are in both the front and rear driver's side springs. Was someone trying to correct some bad springs or is this factory?

Both front sides look just like this. I need to do some searching and see what size the bolts holding the A-Arms are.

I am amazed at the resistence and binding with the factory bushings.

I don't believe that's factory. Waaaaay back in the day people trying to put reverse or deep set keystone klassics or cragar ss's used to use those 'twist blocks' to get enough room to get them on the front.

x 2. No way that's factory. I'd say the springs are weak and someone was trying to keep the fenders off the tires.
I push my fingers into my eyes......

Update - 2023 - Looking to buy 81 Mustang, 82/85/86 Mustang GT, and 79 - 86 Capri (No Sunroof). Not looking for all original/show cars or convertibles - I will be modifying. Would be nice if both were - Black Interior, PW, PL, AC, No - or very little rust. Motor/Trans/Axle not important. Options negotiable with price.

They were only on the driver's side with one up front and two in the back. I figure maybe the springs were getting weak. I was at 27 5/8" on all four corners.

Here is the lineloc which will replace one of the fittings in the Maximum Motorsports MMBAK6 Proportioning valve eliminator.

The rear brake lines will be connected together with a 7/16 -24 I.F. to 3/8 -24 I.F. barrel connector bypassing the proportioning valve.

As for the front brakes I have "rigged" up the manifold (TEE) to attach the two front lines with the lineloc. The line coming from the MasterCylinder will then attach directly to the top of the linloc.

The factory proportioning valve will be completely eliminated and a Wildwood valve will go in the rear line in the coupling at the passenger fender / firewall corner.

I don't like all the brass but the only piece that would be replaceable with aluminum is the Tee. What do you all think? Change the Tee to aluminum?

    Thanks!!!

The axle is mounted and the coilovers are built. Before I can put the CO on I have to mount the panhard bar. The PHB will hopefully go in this afternoon.

As you can see I reused the stock upper A arms. The TQ arm mounting tabs get welded to the subframe connectors and I am not a welder. Hopefully a friend will help me out otherwise the shop will get some of my money.

To build the coilovers you must remove the bottom mount crush sleaves and bushings. The crush sleaves get reused but the bushings are replaced with poly. MM has a very nice setup and I can't wait to try it out.

All that sexiness going under that rear and you leave the UCAs rusty looking. Just kidding you; your work is coming along nicely and I can hope mine goes that well! Keep us updated.

A little. The Coil-Overs are mounted as is the panhard bar chassis mount. I'll have to drive the car and get the suspension settled before actually installing the bar itself.

The PHB mount wasn't too bad. I read all these stories of busted drills and broken drill bits but it was real effortless. I used brand new Dewalt drill bits which I am sure helped.

The CO from MM is a real nice setup. I can't wait to go for a ride.

Tires came in this week and are mounted on the wheels. I went with a 245/45/17 BFG KDW. I hope they work as good as they look....
