82 GS missing the door tags i'm going to guss they were removed when it was painted...found a stamped plate under the hood to the right of the hood release lever. Here are the stamped numbers....

it was repainted so I'm not sure about the license plate..
the windshield is tinted but that is the only glass that is
no light under hood or ashtray or glove box

Re: tinted glass.....it would be a slight green tint, not a dark smoke tint that the upper windshield has. Does your side and rear glass have a slight green tint, or are they clear?

Re: lights in front ashtray, glovebox, and under hood.....were there no wiring, sockets, and bulbs for each, or are the bulbs just missing?

Re: molding on the rocker panel.....it should be an added-on (painted black in your case) molding, not just painted rocker panel. So does the car have an added-on (painted black) molding on the rocker panel or no, and the rocker panel itself is just painted black?

Re: wrapped steering wheel.....is that urethane-wrapped or leather-wrapped? (urethane wrap and stitching is just molded/faux, leather wrap and stitching is real)

Re: wipers....by yes you mean interval/delay, correct?

The winshield is tinted up top it's kinda yellowish other than that the windshield is clear.....the side windows are clear.....hard to tell because of the faded after market tint on it....
saw no wiring for lights under the hood glove box or ashtray
The rocker panel is just painted black.....
urathane wrapped and stitching and it's coming off the steering wheel...it's the one where the center car covers the bolt that holds it inplace...
and yes to the wipers....they have three setting

Well, there's two possibilities there.....1) the tag doesn't belong to the car; OR 2) the car has been repainted. If that production sequence number matches the VIN, and you're sure the VIN hasn't been swapped from another car, you know it's not number one.

Exterior color code "61" is indeed Medium Yellow. That's an '82- and '83-only color code and name.

Well you have already decoded the vin for me......and as soon as I saw the color of the car I knew it was repainted poor job also......I was just cuirous as to what it was before the paint job....when i'm done with it only that tag will tell you what it was born as......I have a hood scoop to place on it.....and at some point a V8 will be going in and I'm goign to replace the rear end with a 8.8
