    Default TRX tire availability?

Was chatting with an acquaintance today about Michelin TRX tires as they are found on our foureyes. As most enthusiasts are aware, they're virtually unobtainable in the US now, as they are a metric or "European" size. This begs the question: are they available in Europe?

Would appreciate if Tuxstang and others could answer this for us. Pricing info, if any, would be welcome, also. Per favore, si vou plais, bitte, etc.?

TRX are not more available in France than anywhere in the world unfortunatly, and they are as expensive in every country (best i've found here is ~400€ for 190/65R390)
The only manufacturer for those tires, since a few years now, is Michelin Collection, a branch that makes their vintage tire sizes/models.
It's not specific to TRX, owners of Mustang II have the same problem for their original tire size with Michelin ... they are not easy to get and cost an arm too.

So, are there no other tire brands besides Michelin making tires in those sizes?

What tire sizing system is currently used in Europe?

No other brands as far as i know ... Avon and GoodYear stopped theirs a few years ago.

Tire sizes in Europe are the same as anywhere in the world. TRX was not a European specific tire size, it's full metric sizing was an attempt to get rid of the dual metric/inches sizing.

Fascinating. So you're still using inches on the Continent, as well. Thank you very much for the information; an interesting topic. I'm off to do some research.

Thats the only place we currently know of that sells them at over $400 a piece unfortunately.
Not worth it unless its a concourse restoration or a low mile surviour.
