Looking good! Is that Rustoleum Primer? If so, I used that on my rearend and on the bottom of my car. I brushed it on because I didn't feel that the bottom had to be truly show worthy, as I planned on using the car a lot (and I have)! I finished it off with Rustoleum Gloss Black (two coats). It still looks pretty good under there.

yes. same here, brushed it on and gonna use that new Rustoleum hammered paint over it. that I used it on the underneath, seems like great stuff. Glad to hear yours is holding up cause we definitely plan on driving it.

Holy sh*t! Thats a helluva lot of metal work. Seeing all that rust and time an effort put into saving that car is highly comendable. Yet at the same time makes me sad becuase foxes are crushed on a weekly basis out here that have ZERO rust and perfeclt straight more times than not.
That's going to be one sweet nas-T notch!

O.K. I got one for ya. What do you get when you combine a rocker from a Dodge Dokota, a quarter from an aero nose fox and a quarter from a foureyed fox. Yes, after a combo of 5 different pieces we have a new rocker for Rusty.
Also got all the engine bay welded and filled and readyto grind and then mud.

Can't believe the rust you are cutting out... didn't look too bad as a complete car but you just never know till you pull it apart.
Ok....I think this is absolutely incredible, but I have to ask....why?
Why would you not get a car shipped from CA with no rust...LOL
Don't get me wrong, this is awesome that the car is being saved from the crusher, I just am still in awe........
Outstanding work. I look to your build to fuel mine.

Well, I don't know how hard it would have been to find an 84 ttop coupe out there, but I probably wouldn't have wanted to pay what it would have cost. Honestly if i could have known some of this stuff I might not have bought this one either. Guess there is a reason why it came with a key tag from a salvadge yard. Got lemons gonna make lemonade.

Absolutely amazing build. I cant wat to see the finished product. I should have stopped in when I was in Erie a couple weeks ago. I might be getting in touch with you for a new cage and through floor sub connectors in the near future for my 84 T-top, but I promise mine has no rust to deal with.
You're moving along nicely. Keep it up.

Fun is fun, and done is done!
Getting closer to seeing that paint color. Done with grinding now we're playing in the mud. Julie got called off work tommorrow and agreed to help sand.
Got these at the swap meet at Fun Ford Weekend Virginia last year, we want to use them. I have them rigged with l.e.d.'s and they will be sequential. What do you think?

I think the taillights would look sweet but i'm also a fan of the '83-'86 ones as well.
'83 Hatch - PBR Front/GT rear disc, Steeda Sport Springs, Tokico Blues, MM CC plates, 87+ sway bars
I think those sequentials will look awesome! Keep up the good work!
