"help" fairmont lights going off
well i drove the fairmont tonite on a road and used my brights. they were on maybe 20 seconds and all of them went dark. turned the brights off and they came back on in like 5-10 seconds. i had a zephyr that did this once to. so i figure it is a common problem? any ideas what is happening to me? thanks matt.
That would be the overload protection. Time to rewire in some relays
+1, might want to replace that switch also. In my experience once they get hot, they only get worse.

not to sound stupid but what relays? and replace what switch thanks guys.
the headlight switch. do a quick search for headlight relay, and you will read about more cars with this problem. A few posters have made schematics for running the relays. I'm feeling lazy, but search my posts, and you can see where I referred someone to a thread with the schematic a few days ago.
