I know we seem to have arrived at a carb or vacuum issue.

But I found this info while trolling technical forums for something else and thought I'd pass it along. MSD has stated through research that "one of the main reasons for box malfunctions and failure is from poor grounds. This includes vehicles that have rear mounted batteries with a ground to the frame, and another ground up front from the frame, which gives too much resistance, especially on subframe vehicles."

When did 'we' arrive at that?

In my last post I specifically asked OP to temporarally replace his MSD ignition with the stock Duraspark as I believe there is a chance that the MSD box is the cause.

We still need to know whether the crankcase has vacuum on it -without- the PCV
connected. I'm at a loss why such a simple test has not yet been performed...

Btw, what this is saying, you should run a ground cable up to the front frame and engine block.
