79-84 seem to be ok. They are definitely made out of different material.

87+, I couldn't say. FWIW, you can probably still hunt those down, new.

87 up ones shrink badly when the metal is removed.

Sorry I missed your post. No, I really meant "Molding".

Thanks, negusm and sonic. Looks like I'll just let the '91 slide then and let the next owner worry about it. It's not really that bad.

My buddy had to remove the passenger door molding to fix a crease on the door of his 90 coupe. He purchased a used molding that appeared to be in really nice shape until he went to put it on. No kidding, it shrunk about 1.5".

Him being impatient put it on anyway.

What type of 3M tape did you use to mount the molding back on the panels ?

    3m has a Europian site
    On the US site:
    http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3...be41XCSGR3CFgl

I used the retail packaged 3614 gray foam one.
3M Scotch-Mount Super Strength Molding Tape OEM approved
    http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&key...l_8kgm0vdv40_b

Installed along the outside edges of molding to minimize any debris-catching gaps.

That's the same one I used. I picked it up at NAPA. You can probably find it at any auto parts store or your local WalMart.
