Default 84 Turbo RS build sheet

Fox Chassis, what are you able to tell me about this. I'm particularly interested in the A/C info. Hopefully you can read it.

Here's a better size to read, the ink is faint on the actual sheet.

If the car had A/C it would show up on line B4. Looks like that line is blank on your build sheet. Another way to tell info about the car is to look on the buck tag - it shows it there as well.

If it is not on the build sheet, it's my money is that it's not on the buck tag either.

I thought all along it was dealer air. I have the under dash pull handle that opens the cowl vent. Never saw that on a "real" A/C car, plus under the hood didn't look right. I wasn't sure if a blank on the build sheet meant "no got" or what. Thanks!

How about sharing some pics of the underhood AC (and the rest of the car while you're at it).

My 84 RS Turbo has factory air (kind of tough to see in this picture):

I don't have any shots of the underhood yet. I just posted some shots in the "Resto Related" area of the outside. Where mine looked "off" was with the A/C hoses, not quite factory. The car is at my mother's garage at the moment as I haven't brought it over to mine from when I retired from the USAF. Moving cross country sucks. I have the room now, just no transport method. Yet.

I've been doing digging of late and I don't know if Foxchassis ever did a decode on my build sheet/buck tag. I've got both in albums on my profile, but they're here too.

Thank you! I love minutia and this fits the bill. My car didn't come with floor mats, always thought they had just disappeared over the years.

I thought I would post a small update to this thread. On the build sheet, it shows that the car was equipped with a power hatch release. I was never able to find the wiring harness connector in the dash that plugged into the release button. Just recently, I took apart the latch on the hatch itself, and there is no wiring to the hatch release whatsoever. The only wiring on the hatch is for the rear defrost, but there is nothing going to the release mechanism itself. So, either the build sheet is a little inaccurate, or the latch was replaced, and the wiring deleted all the way to the dash. Stranger things have happened, it’s just interesting to see that it appears that the build sheet is wrong.

My decoding of that 'Power Aids, Deklid Release' code "F" is incorrect. The remote decklid release was included in the Power Lock Group, which your car did not have.

Just now seeing this reply, thanks for the clarification. I was more than a little thrown by the lack of the release. Actually, the first I've seen without it. Another question: thanks to Kendal, I've finally sourced and purchased a correct hood with cutout. My question is, did those hoods have the insulation on the underside?

Is the “bulge” hood scoop the one that faces forward or is the larger one that encloses the fake vents considered the bulge?

Nope, sorry, that's another mistake. You have a scoop .. the forward facing one.

No sweat. I have both and finally have the correct hood with the cutout. I was mainly asking because I’ve seen the term applied to both of them.

I did think of another question though. Even though my car did not come with a power hatch release, the wiring harness still has the plug for it, tucked and taped inside the hatch. The question is, did the same thing happen to the harness behind the dash for the button? There is a plug taped back onto the harness over towards the center of the dash near the radio, but it does not fit the button for the hatch popper. I wonder if anybody happens to have a picture of what it actually looks like (the connector that is).

Late answer to your question, but the bulge scoop is the one that wraps around the front vents with no actual opening or even fake opening. The forward facing hood scoop is the same as on the 1979 Cobra and the 1982 GT. Kind of a smaller version of the Boss 429 scoop if you squint just right.
