Try sticking a magnet to it, you should be able to access it from underneath I think?

Probably more like a particular parts supplier that shipped to one factory. Mine are both steel.

I know the front one on my 2.3 cobra is aluminum but I would have to check to see if the rear is also.

I never checked mine, but when I bought my Cobra I got several spare parts with it. An aluminum front and rear bumper. Some one told me that a Cobra always had alu from the factory.

There was no specific model that got them. My old 79 cobra had a rear, no front. I've snagged a front from a Capri, but had steel on the rear. The pace car I had had a front and rear. I've seen them in the junkyard on plain jane cars too.

If you have aluminum ones you should clean them and apply a layer clear coat, before putting them back up.

I pulled one off the front of an 1981, I-6 Capri today in the junkyard. Rear one was steel though.

    Default survey-one for steel=ft, al=rear

    79 cobra turbo
    original owner
front was replaced with steel by AAA cost savers (crash repair)
got screwed on that one and i did bitch to no avail.
oh well steel is stronger? more ft down force?
    but still....
Came with alum front/rear To save weight, i believe.
I know ft was alum before repair. Was aware of that detail.

5 mph bumper era long gone. They saved damage to this car a few times
