Default New to me GT Turbo

Hi Guys!!! Just checking in and showing off. Me and my two ten year olds flew out of Atlanta Saturday morning to check out an '84 GT Turbo that Matt, mb84gt, had posted here for sale. The car was exactly as described and pictured. A real top notch guy. Needless to say by 1 A.M we were in our drive with the car. 780+ miles 23+mpg running 75 - 80 and not a single hiccup. Very pleased with the car.

My plans are to make it a very nice restored driver. The car will remain looking as stock as possible, I am sure the stance will improve slightly from some wheels and MM products but nothing extreme. The interior will stay as is though I want to find some rear hatch plastic to get rid of the speakers. The engine may get benefits of a small front mounted intercooler if I can adapt the FMS Turbo Coupe cooler to it. I do have a LA3 that will be installed as well I am sure.

I think you made a very good purchase ,I have been very pleased with my 84 GT Turbo and now that I have started doing some performance mods it is not only good on gas mileage it is absolutely a joy to drive .
on a trip to Colorado that I made last year I averaged 30 mpg on all hwy driving ,I actually got a bit better mileage after the la3 swap ,that is something I did not expect .
I was was looking at SVO's when I found mine and due to mine being a convertible I decided to grab it and have been completely happy with mine as I am sure you will be also

Awesome car!!....That FMS front mount won't work in a Mustang at least an SVO. I don't think there is any difference between the two. Anyway, I have one and tried it.

I often say that I look at 1,000 and buy 2 ------------ and that was 1 of the 2 that I strongly considered. I saved the pics to my computer ---- and if he only knew how many times I've looked at them.

As good as it looked in all of his pics, it looks even better in the pic above.

Looks like you got a great deal.

Matt is a standup guy, I had the same experience buying his '86 Dominator. I hope he stays in the 4 eye game, he does a great job with his cars. Great looking GT Turbo, I got a chance to look at it when I was up there. Beautiful car.

    Nice Car!!

So the 84' Turbo GT's did not have fog light's, I did not know that.
    Current ponys:
1982 GT T-Top (Silver/Red), needs motor/trans and lots of TLC.
1985 GT Vert (Blue/grey), saved from scrap yard needs a lot.
    1987 GT T-Top (Yellow/Grey)
    Previous heard:
    1987 GT (Red/Red), 1984 G.T. 350 T-Top, 1986 LX Wht/Grey Coupe

Foglights were a mid year change in 84. For all GTs I believe (5.0 and otherwise).

That's right. Early '84 GTs (including Turbo GT) did not have foglamps. They had the same front bumper cover as all '83 models, none of which had foglamps.

Ron, I'm extremely pleased that the car made it without any issues. I can also rest assured that this rare car is in good hands.

Please stay around foureyedpride and update your progress on your new gt turbo.

Chris, thanks for the kind words. I hope you are still enjoying the Dominator.

And, if the tax man is good to me this spring, I will be back on the hunt for a four eye.

Correct sir, my 1984 GT 5.0 did not have them and had the 1983 style bumper cover.

That is a super nice GT, welcome!
