I can only guess and say that your wheels may live in a harsh environment there in Michigan. We know they salt the roads in the winter to melt the ice, plus all the other corrosive materials that get sprayed all over everything and you can also get small paint chips from road debris. I lived up there years ago and I know how bad Michigan roads can be on a car.

17x9 AKT Logic wheels- one of 10 sets imported from Japan by Baer Racing in the late 80's to clear the new 13" brake kit they offered:

They were originally made to fit the Nissan Skyline GTR and for Ruf Porsche:

Unlike the Sterns and the SC copies, these have a distinct dish to them. The spokes are thinner than the Sterns and the center is deeper than the sides.

Several months ago, I even bought another set ---- NOS ---- that have never, ever, ever been on a car. The boxes that they came in are stamped, "Rec'd 1980."

    Have a look-see...

    Can anybody identify the brand???

And I have these unknown make but kind of cool directional and side specific wheels on my Capri. I do plan on changing them though, mostly because they are 14's
Those Pro-Star knock-offs are probably Summit Racing Wheels. They make 4 lug ProStar knock-offs.

Prime wheel probably makes them for Jegs/Summit. They were making them long before those two companies started selling them. A company called Pacer made some too.
