    Default Florida guys

Gotta ask a question. As you may have read I had a little fender bender and gotta pick up a new driver side fender. I've been lookin online and I find brand new primed fenders for $60 everywhere. But seeing as it's a fender i'm seein about $80-$100 for shipping. I won't be able to paint the car for a little so i'de like to get a new fender with primer on it so I don't have to worry about any rust issues, and it's one less panel that we have to prep for paint. So far the best i've found is a place i've ordered from before that has the fender $55 and the shipping for $60. It's not great but it's the best i've found. Anyway, just curious if any Florida guys know where I can pick a NEW fender up locally. I know it's a long shot but before I shell out the extra cash I just wanna check. I've checked the scrap yards around me and most of em want the same for used fenders that people want for new ones.

    Thanks,
    Tony

Sorry ---- I cant help you with this one.

I know there are some salvage yards around the Tampa area ---- but I've not dealt with them.

Trust me, if it's an aftermarket repro fender you don't want it. Look around for one in a yard. It will fit 1000x better.

    Good advice.

Do you fell the same for aftermarket trunk lids?

I've seen some of those advertised.

I haven't seen any aftermarket body panels that fit like they should.

Although I have not bought any aftermarket parts for my 1980 cobra, I have a1969 Chevelle that I put after market front fenders on and I had a hell of a time getting them to line up. I agree with purple pony try a find a orig replacement from another car or salvage yard.

I used to work part-time in a body shop in Central Florida (mom and dad still live there).......trust me, find a good salvage fender. The repros SUCK in fitment and finish; we had more hours into making them right than we would have into stripping and painting a good salvage piece.

That's good news, I love a positive Craigslist story! Now, a bit off topic here, do you own a 1987 Haro Master? Old school bikes are cool...
