    Default Headlight Switch Retainer

Hey fellas, I hope everyone is doing well... I am almost finished with the new interior and I ran into a snag the other night.

While replacing a much needed headlamp switch, the "retaining nut" or "black screw-in trim piece/switch retainer" thingy stripped itself due to the plastic threads getting so brittle over the years. Does anyone know if these can be found? I searched a few spots online to no avail... Aside from a junkyard, does anyone have any thoughts?

Also, I noticed that my GT switch that I removed had another wire connected at the top of the switch and there was no such hook up on the replacement. I no longer have fogs but I assume that has something to do with those?

    What's a "GT" switch?

The black plastic headlight switch bezels are only found in junkyards or in the classifieds here.

    There are no repros "yet".

I meant the GT - headlamp switch... The one that I put in did not have the 2-wire hook up for, what I think is for, the fog lights... As if it were for an LX etc. that does not have the factory fogs. I'll get some pics if I get a chance.

I didn't know if you meant the foglight switch or the headlight switch.

Yeah the GT headlight switch has extra connectors at the back for the foglights. To be honest, the wiring is getting so old on these cars that its almost mandatory now to use a relay anyways and skip running the foglights through the headlamp switch.

I've heard that the fog light wiring can be a fire hazard. Definitely run your own wiring with a relay.
