    Default The "Banger" is dying...

Poor old tired six banger, rear main is leaking now. Looked like a locomotive as it was smokin' down the highway this evening after work with all the oil blowin' on the exhaust.

Going to force me into hurry up mode for the motor swap now.

I have five days in a row off next week to try and get it done.

    3.3L/200ci I-6? How 'old'?

Old for those engines - unless badly abused/neglected - is 200,000+ miles.

Good luck with the swap. You are installing the EFI or converting to carb?

Not sure of the mileage of the 3.3, it still runs, just is leaking oil out about as fast as you add it. And I am not putting any effort into it when it is going to be replaced.

Swap is to a 2000 Explorer 5.0 and a AODE trany, definitely EFI.

    Ha-Ha-Ha!

    No Vid, No Vid Cam.

Been shopping for one, haven't found one the quality I want in my price range.(less than $100)

So, I guess it didn't really happen, I just don't want to drive the banger any more...

Before you scrap that 3.3L you may want to see if anyone at Fordsix.com wants it. Somebody may actually pay you for it. Then again probably not.

Oh yeah, I'm not throwing it away. It will go on ebay or craigslist when it's out.
