Hey FoxChassis, does the Bright Red for the 2008 Ford F-150 have the same paint code as the Bright Red for the '85-'86 Foxes?

I have no idea what the paint color codes are for 2008 F-150s. That's a clearcoat paint too, whereas in '85 it wasn't.

My guess would be no. My 05 F150 is bright red and it is night and day compared to the 85.

Just found this picture of our car that shows the 5.0 emblem but no GS badging.

Really? I assumed that was the factory badging. Figured the "Capri 5.0" got the 5.0 badge there. Well now I know I guess.

Yeah, someone got a little carried away with his 5.0 badge. It kind of reminds me of the times that I have seen that same badge affixed to Camaros, T-Birds and even a BMW or two.

OK, so what differentiated the "GS" from the "5.0" cars in 85? As far as I can tell, this one doesn't look to have ever had a GS badge.

Its not bad. I believe the interior is probably in better than average condition, it runs great and as of today has functioning A/C which is quite the novelty for an almost 25 year old fox body.

If you go "by the book". The 5.0L cars got the air damn and sport seats. The GS cars did not. The 5.0L cars did NOT get the GS colors.

SOME 5.0L cars got the GS tag on the hatch. That is the ONLY thing confusing things. If you IGNORE the GS on the hatch and look at the rest of the car, you can differentiate between the two model lines. If you are hung up on the GS badge on the hatch there is NO way to discern the 5.0L cars and the 5.0L cars badges with a GS.

They should have just kept the RS side mouldings on there. They even put an RS sticker on the hatch on early 85s too. Then there would be no issues.

The plant built your car to "RS" specifications.... the Marketing Department in the US (for whatever reason - legal or otherwise) called it something else.

Yes, it does. We verified that back some time ago.

That's pretty much exactly what happened. The factory was building them as per the book specs but marketing couldn't get their thumbs out of their ass and figure out the best way to sell them.
