    Default Flush gas tank?

Gas in the stang has been sitting for a few years. Does it need to be flushed beffore starting the car or just put some gas additive in it? Thanks, Paul

The PROPER way would be dropping the tank and getting it out and cleaning the tank. The cheap and easy way would be to add a bunch of Marvel Mystery Oil or Seafoam or something like that and then putting as much fresh gas in as you can. Either way, be sure to change out your fuel filter a few times over the next few thousand miles.

    Try Fitch fuel catalyst: www.fitchfuelcatalyst.com

    It really DOES work.

Most radiator shops can boil them out.

Isn't the gas tank poly? Also, I wasa thinking the major issue would just be water in it. Not true?

    Tanks are steel.

Old gas can get real nasty, gummy and solid, that's why the boil them out.

I would just drop the gas tank and wipe it out with mineral spirits. I did this to my 85gt and found old sediment at the bottom of the tank.
