That would be sweet! I'd be happy to pimp a name or web addy for you on the side of the race car! How long do you think it would take to get one done? Any idea on cost?

I'm trying to think of a way to reinforce it. it looks way better than the lugguage rack number that they usually have. Looks good and I dont even like notchbacks

    I dig the DIY effort!

I think it looks sweet so far. Subtle & simple yet adds just the right amount of "flair".

I took the easy route with a Dodge Aries K I had as a beater for awhile. I simply mounted a 3 Gen camaro wing to the trunk!

Small pic, its the only one I have here at work.

That is important to me. I want it to look like it belongs there, not just something that's just thrown on. I've got the fiberglass laid on the spoiler, I had to use an epoxy resin instead of the regular polyester stuff because it eats this type of foam (good thing I tried a test piece first!). I'd post a pic but the wife's out w/friends & took the camera. Thanks for everyone's support!

JohnnyGMachine, you gotta post pics when you get a prototype done!

The spoiler is going to have threaded inserts in it, with bolts going through the decklid.

I was thinking embeding something into the spoiler like a piece of angle iron or something with bolts welded to it.

I can suggest aluminun angle, it's strong and lightweight, we'd used it here to reinforce wings and spoilers several times... you can use it, drill it,
put the bolts, and then build the structure over it

Agreed Naja...that is how I did my 99+ hoodscoop to my 83 hood. Went into the backshop, grabbed some .062" angle aluminum, drilled it, riveted some capnuts to it, glassed them to the inside of the scoop, drilled the hood, and bolted her down (sometimes working in aviation has some benefit!).

That would be better, I just named some sort of angled metal, maybe with pieces welded to it to help structural integrity.

I'm just impressed with the workmanship.

I wouldnt be able to do that in 100 years.

See this is what real hot rodding is all about. Guys tired of waiting for somebody to make something that would look and work great for a car and it never happens. So instead of waiting you roll up the sleeves, head out to the garage and start makin' the stuff you want. This is how you see stuff on a car at a show and go "WHOA!!!!" what's THAT! I can't wait to see it. I think he's doing an incredible job with the proportions and shape so far.

Well, hopefully I can get back on the thing this weekend. Different things keep coming up & I haven't been able to spend the time on it I wanted to.

Well it seems after an endless number of family crises I finally have time to work on this thing. I've laid four layers of mat and put a little filler on the top side. Hopefully I can finish it up tomorrow & get some primer shot on it next week. I'm working in my backyard because I didn't want to mess up my garage again .

I'm not going to mess with the corners until I bolt it on the car, that way I can match it up to the body contour.
