Ya I've also decided to convert to 5 lug on her. My 83 will be my cruiser, the BM, some kind of wild toy. I'm not sure what she will end up with as far as drive train but, it will be fast.

Joe, didn't you try to sell your white black magic cat at one time and I notice you sold your other cat.

wow, never knew these were so rare, especially the '83. i own an '83 black magic that my father purchased as my first car way back in '86. she is a little beat now but after reading she has been placed on priority resto along with my '79 pace car. luckily in the day i did purchase 2 stripe kits and picked up an '81 black magic for parts. i still have all the parts that i changed over the years..lucky.

All you Black Magic and Crimson Cat owners that haven't already done so, please post any VIN, Buck Tag, Build Sheet, Owner Card/Warranty Tag, or Window Sticker you have in the Production Numbers and Decoding forum. I'll decode as much as I can and add to the database I'm building at the same time.

I have in the database right now....

    6 '81 Black Magics (two 2.3L and four 3.3L)
    6 '82 Black Magics (one 2.3L and five 5.0L)
    3 '83 Black Magics (one 3.8L and two 5.0L)
    10 '83 Crimson Cats (all 5.0L)

Default 1981 Capri RS Black Magic

had a 81 Capri RS Black Magic with a 200 six, t-tops, fm stereo, p/s, p/b, a/c, 3.08 with a slip and a SROD. Black on black. I paid 150 for it with a missing T-top and alot of paint gone back in 1990 from my buddy Charlie then spend another 150 for a T-top for it. Still not bad for a 9 year old car back then with under 100K on it. I ended up parting it out and scrapping the rest since I was more into Torinos back then, but that's after I drove it for 2 years and it started rusting badly since alot of paint was gone.

Well Joe, your old White BM is now legally on the road downunder here in Melbourne, Australia, where they're currently playing the Presidents Cup at Royal Melbourne Golf Club!

Here's some snaps of the old girl as she looks now with the 15" wheels sourced from an '96 EL Falcon to get me through the roadworthy certificate for registration as a Club car stage. I plan to replace these wheels with the original SVO wheels that she came with, after replacing the 245/50x16 Kumho's on the front with 205/50X16 Kumho's for clearance purposes. Over here we aren't allowed to use spacers hence the reason for the drop in tire width! I'm now able to start enjoying her!!
