82 capri Rs Black Magic..in the thinking stage of rodding it out with a 351W and losing the straight six.

I've owned an 82 Black Magic since 2000. I'm the second owner, the car has zero rust, original paint, and it's never been in a collision. It's 5.0 with AC and tilt; no other options that I know of. I've added SVO seats and sail panels, and 87/88 Turbocoupe wheels with cat head caps. I also rebuilt and installed a TurboCoupe disc-brake rear end; Torsen differential, SVO cover, aluminum driveshaft, Koni shocks, axles, bearings, bushings, etc. Flowmasters, MSD, and many subtle mods that I don't remember. The car had 144k when I got it, and it's now around 160k. The engine has burned oil since I bought the car, and nothing changed after I replaced the valve seals. So since it needs rings at the least, I'm kicking around the idea of installing a newer MAF engine/T-5 trans... If only money grew on trees.

    Default 82

Not really pic-worthy as it sits, because a lot of it is apart. Even though I can't currenly afford to deal with the engine, I removed it, along with the 4-spd, to get ready to paint the engine compartment (someone at Ford should be fired for only giving fox engine compartments a fog-coat). I ended up removing everything from the firewall forward, and the dash/steering column/climate control, in order to do a nice job on the firewall. Everything is cleaned, sanded, and ready for paint, but I'm doing the 'back to school' thing (broke), so it will have to wait. The car is safely stored indoors and on non-op. When I can afford it, I'll probably end up buying a big air compressor and the rest of the stuff to paint, and then get on with the project. Someday the car will be one of the sharpest Black Magics on the road.

Hey everyone, new to the forum, and just found this thread.

I have a Crimson Cat, 5 speed, T-top, Pretty original (just lightly modded exhaust, new holley carb, have all the original parts). Originals rims (Just trying to track down some new tires so I can drive it a bit more this summer with being concerned that shes gonna blow). Only 167K on it. Pretty good shape (zero rust), few small paint chips, interior is in pretty good shape (needs a new center console, mines only holding on by 1 screw), and the cabin air intake grill is partially cracked. It's been in the family since 1983, never sold. Needs just a couple of little aesthetic things... but is in excellent running shape, and very little wear for a 26 year old car. (Hopefully I have finally found a place where I can get some help tracking a few things down)

On an interesting note, my father got a speeding ticket on the test drive on the CC in 83

My first fox was an 81 black cat 4cyl 4speed. Drove it from 93 to 96. In 96 it got t-boned in the right side by a 78 bronco. I still have it, and continue to use parts off of it.
