Not really, I am struggling to finance mine! I seem to have an fetish for owning all the tools possible to do any job I want to take on. (I really hate renting and borrowing is much worse for me! ) so I often stall my project because I either end up buying a tool or piece of equipment to do the job and then don't have the funds for the actual car. I am going thru a 12 step program, although I am not sure it will work to be honest!

Anyway, this one one of those situations where I really want a Roller Hoop http://www.rollerhoop.com/ but I can't afford that right now with my daughter leaving for college and rebuild the GT, so compromises had to be made. That is when I started researching other options and decided I could make this work for both my 82 GT and my SVO after this. Still doesn't actually help to finance the project, but it does help me to actually keep moving ahead on the project at this time.

I am working on a side job that might help fund my projects very well if that finally works out. Unfortunately it will eat up much of my spare time during the week, so I will most likely only be able to tackle my cars on the weekends, but the additional cashflow will definitely help to move them along.

If I come up with any brilliant ideas, I will definitely pass them on!

Here is my GT on the rolltisserie.

I used a double wheel trailer jack in the front, but honestly I don't know that it's needed. It seems to make it harder to steer as the wheels seem to fight one another. A single wheel might be better, but it works.

The rear has the two single wheel jacks for stability when moving. I had to play with a couple of mounting locations until I found these that worked pretty well. I have to jack the back end up high enough for the wheels to rotate under the wood. If I had moved them inboard more that wouldn't be the case, but I wanted the wider track for stability. I also looked at spacing them off the wood more to give the wheel more swing room, but I would either have to swap out my brace that I had already installed or get more lumber and my impatience said forget it!

Here is the car rolled on the passenger side.

With my double sided design this allows me to roll the car onto the driver side too. If you notice the block of wood under the back that is because my driveway has a slight slope down hill and the car kept trying to "right" itself! If I swung the car around I wouldn't need the block. No big deal and the car was quite stable on both sides.

Now I just have to get the underside degreased, power wash the rest of the body and then get to welding!

    Default shell weights

    Seen first hand:
On of the big 3 auto companies stored some bench marked cars and pickups where i worked a few years back.
All brands. 20-35 vehicles at one time.
Once complete new vehicles, now stripped down to empty painted body shells.
All were on simple steel frame dollies with large castors.
    Drive train on pallets.
Perimeter truck frames on separate dollies.
'Smaller' parts were piled into tagged bins. Hoods, doors, trim, electrical, suspension.

    What a sight.

Shell weight was usually marked on a roof pillar with paint marker.
Ave was around 750#, both car shell and truck cabs.

Will never forget how close the wide variety of shells were in weight. 700-800
No matter the size, it was basically sheet metal and air space.
Bigger ones had a little more metal and lot more air space.

That looks slick! I will definitely create one of these when I need to take mine down that far.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who probably saw that first, rather than the car. It was a massive focal point in the photo. Trey will have to make sure in future pictures not to include any background distractions.

Ok, in the future I will do a better job of keeping my truck out of the photos so as to not distract you! I guess it's a good thing that my wife doesn't come out to check on me very often and accidentally get caught in one of the pictures! Heck you wouldn't even notice that there was car anywhere to be seen!

No Real surprises, got all the grease, grime, and road debris off the underside. There are some remnants of undercoating of some kind in a few spots, but I will take care of those when I prep the underside for SFC and my undercoating.

Yes, that's the Wife's 2015 Edge that replaced her 200K + 2003 Navigator. Pretty good car overall, but still a few things about it I would like to change.

Are you using any kind of de-greaser with the powerwasher?

I did most of the cleaning with just hot water and pressure. I did use the Hotsy degreaser for some stubborn grease and grime. Worked pretty well and only used 1/2 gallon for everything. Also it was biodegradeable too!
