3.8 or 5.0 help wanted

my 85 5.0 has seen better day i'm in the process of bringing her back to life but its going slow i was offered an 1985 3.8 at a very low price great shape clean just engine problems
thing is that i was told that the 3.8 & the 5.0 efi was the same as far as body rotors shocks k-member and etc with the only excepion being the wiring and radatior and engine is this true was thinking of swaping over the parts from the 3.8 to the 5.0 or the 5.0 engine into the 3.8 body and work from there
any help ?

if the 5.0 is a rust bucket or has major body damage swap away! springs, steering rack, and sway bars should also be swapped.
