cleaning fuel tank
few questions, I had to pull my fuel tank off of a 85 gt had some rust in the gas lines it went through the fuel pump didn't pump it long just long enough to see the rust, did this hurt my fuel pump. What would be the best way to clean the tank out and what else should i check in the tank why i have it down the tank looks good i guess just sitting up for so long it got rust in the inside. How should i clean the fuel lines out also.

well pumps don't like rust, or air. causes cavitation. some damage was done, but probably not enough to kill it. time will tell. if you have that much rust in your tank it's probably time to replace it.

You can take the tank to a radiator shop, they can clean and re-seal it. When I was living in Waco, I took mine to Renschlers after having the sump welded on.
