Just purchased: 79 2.3 Pace Car
Well, icouldnt resist the $100 price tag and the 90% complete (not motor or hatch) no rust. i just happen to have a spare turbo coupe motor and tranny laying around! perfect air dam, it is missint th epace car emblem that should be on the instrument cluster surround, so i am now looking for one off those if anybody has one let me know. pics and more to come....

I now know why it sold for so little; but it still was worth every penny IMHO!!!!!!!!
'89 5.0 5-speed 'vert, seeing rust for the 1st time in it's life as well as 4,500+ elevation....
i know... it looks worse than it is. the bent nose was done when he hooked to the core support and pulled sidway getting it out of his yard the night before i was coming to look at itit is now wearing a hatch from a 92, need to deal with the different latch mechanism issues or find an older hatch.
i already had a 2.3t and 5 speed from an 85 turbo coupe so thats what it will be getting along with a LA3, big vam, brown tops, ranger cam, and 3" exhaust

oh, and a new 79 hood with factory hole in it! still deciding on ponys or ten holes for wheels...
gonna pull the front clip off and take it to a body shop to straighten the front fram rails back out.

For $100.00, I would say you definately got a hell of a deal. Even if the car itself can't be saved, parts off it will be worth more than that!

it will be saved! zero rust! its just the front frame horns that have been bent left, even the fenders will be fine! i am replacing the hood and hatch, the rest of the exterior is good, just needs paint. the problem is going to be the seats

the yard i bought the capri from had one a few years ago, the roof had forklift damage, i regret not getting it as well
i couldn't let another one go to the crusher as well! this one had 2 days left before it would have met the same fate.
when i get further on the capri, i will get some updated pictures of it cleaned.
