    Default svo sighting in aberdeen

so i chased the guy down and talked to him....i was very dissapointed to see a couple of things on the car. very nice car, but (close your eyes now if youre sensitive to SVOs) it had a 351, black euro lights and some type of cowl scoop. other than that, its beautiful. i guess he paid $400 for the car and then did the 351 swap after 3 years, then painted it. he seemed like a pretty cool guy. i think i may have given hima headache, because i talked forever lol the paint still needs to be wet sanded but will look gorgeous when done. i gave him a piece of paper with "foureyedpride.com" written on it. i old him to go here and register or i would have to kick his ass lol. hopefully he does. here are some pics

Unless he started with a shell / no engine I would like to give him an ache...

    ...and not in his head.

Yes, I know it's his car and all that stuff...

    A few other things:

He also has changed out the SVO rear spoiler / hatch for an 87ish GT.

It appears to have crank windows from the reflection off of a window crank on the driver's door. And maybe no AC looking through the space in the steering wheel I don't see the left vent on the panel above the glove box.

If so that means it could very well be a comp prep / option delete...

Any chance of getting the VIN?

if he registers, he would probably give it to you. if i see him again, ill be sure to get it. he had the turbo 4 for 3 years. he wanted a v-8. he could have made just as much power with the hairdryer.

And at least what has been done can be fairly easly fixed. If he got the car for 400 bucks I bet he didn't have much to start with.....

Those are non SVO door panels, theres no cloth top section, its black, the SVo would have had semi gloss plastic black handles and handle buckets.

After looking at it some more I'm not even sure if it started out as an SVO. Unless he filled the holes for the spats and rocker panels it appears to never have had them.

    The VIN will tell...

I know, but most people who are hacks will go for the visuals and stick with normal struts in the front.

the guy said the car was freshly painted with what seems to be a very expensive but not perfect paint job.. he probably gave up on the spats and had the holes filled

probably. the interior was not complete, so parts could have been swapped. it had the correct axle, suspension, used to have the engine. he told me, the car didnt run when he bought it. the plug wires were wired wrong. he swapped them around and it ran just fine. i have no doubt its a real SVO. you can look under the car, and see the surface rust and completely un-molested undercarriage. i dont think anyone has ever removed a bolt from that axle or front suspension.

Yes I regret now having put the SVO front suspension under there. The engine ( 5.0 ) is toast so it will be coming out at some point in the future. I'll be taking off all the SVO stuff and replacing it with SN95 instead at that time.

It was OK for the track but sits too low for the street and gets tough / uncomfortable to ride in after a while. It drags the trans cross member / SFCs and exhaust over even an average height speed bump.

I'd still like to get the VIN on this SVO if possible?

    Unhappy

    Just checked the registry...

No offense but this one should be restored to original.

It may very well be the first option delete / comp prep built. Since the option delete isn't a searchable field there is a very slim possibility of a few in front of it. But based on it's build date / number I seriously doubt it.

Very sad. It had only one registry entry from 2001. I will update it now.
