    !!!!UPDATE!!!!

I have received the prototype dash pad. The way it was constructed is GREAT! It is made like the originals. However, We need to make some adjustments for the fitment. I will keep you updated.

A dash pad and carpet is all I really need to be in a presentable state at this point, from what Ive read this new dash pad is gonna be a big improvement over the old replacement?

I will definitely be getting a new dash pad for my car. Both of mine are cracked and speaker holes have broken apart.

my old dash pad was not a pad at all. Are these suppose to be paded? When I took mine off it was cracked really bad and the fome underneath was hard and dry.

As many of these cars as there are here (and the levels to which some here go to put them back together), if you could do a spot-on repro I would say you have a good shot at selling a good number of them (oh yeah, 2 in Charcoal and one in Black for me).

I'd love a black one for my 79 pace car.

Question - aren't modern vinyls less likely to dry out and become as brittle? Technology has improved over the last 30 years, right?

Matt at Fox Resto tells me no blue, but they can be painted. I too need a blue for the LX 5.0 conversion.

I need a gray dash pad myself. When I pulled my original one, it fell apart in my hands it was so brittle.

I'd love to see a nice repro option...but what i'd like to see even more is a better than stock option that won't crack in the sun like the stockers always did.

I have the new prototypes coming in next week. If they pass my inspection then we are about 2 months out. I am being extremely picky on these.

    I will keep you posted.
