Im not trying to argue with you but re read my post and you will see what I was saying. I said that with it all ironed out it should make about 215 and thats enough to go 12s if he has all the supporting mods. I ran high 12s with a basicly stock LX 20 years ago. Hell back in 93 my brand new loaded 93 LX 5 speed went 13.6 @ 97 with just the free stuff and 3.73s and slicks.
I know it takes alot more than just dyno numbers to run the number but I still think that 215 RWHP in a light car will run 12s.

one thing I must note is that the stock 3.8 harmonic balancer must have a neutral balance with the 4.2 crank but timing has to be re-engraved with timing marks because the timing will be 20 degrees off.

Where do you come across the 4.2 stroker crank?

any junk yard with an f-150/e-150 should have a whole motor for the cost of a new crank from ford or you can get one (reground) at advance auto parts

just out of curiousity, what year v6 block are you running?
ive really been contemplating doing something like this, well not exactly like this but most of the info i see is very vague about the compatibility of the 83-86 blocks and going with the 4.2 crank
everything always related to the 88+ injected motors.
all i know is hooking up these motors are pricey

Good figures for sure, V8 or V6 aside! I'll PM you when I am ready to build up my spare 3.8. Thanks for the info on an overlooked motor.

with gas at $4.00/ gallon why not a 6 popper hot rod?

rpm for rpm a sixer making 185-210 is still using less fuel than your v8 with the same power level

Are you running some sort of aftermarket manifold? What all is done to your combo? Did I read correctly that you have a stall?

I see you are in MD. Do you plan on racing at any of the tracks? I'd love to see that car at the track.

SEA: the intake is a modded carb unit , with the 3 tubes under the carb cut and filled , EGR filled , and fully ported with an adapter plate made to fit a holley square flange. open plenum. If you are near me with an intake I could show you what needs to be done.

Zach I may run it at "all ford day" Mason dixon dragway just for giggles

PSjust as a side note I took it to a show in Hagerstown this weekend and it garnered a lot of looks and curiois expressions when some heard the car and read the fender (3.8 " high performance") Had a guy find my car just to look under the hood!

the 4.2L was in the F-150/E 150 from 99 to 2004 I believe. For all you fuelie guys go for a dual port with a mustang intake so it fits under the hood
