Here's my Cobra. I got it about a month and half ago. It's my 3rd '79 Cobra I've owned. I am slowly starting to strip it down and restore it. A PO swapped a '71 302 out of a Torino into it, still running a points ditzy. I don't know if the spoiler is right (I don't think the '79 Cobra's had them), but I'm keeping it. I'm searching for parts now, center console and map light, etc. I put my old personal plates from my first Cobra on it.
Ok I saw this and had to post even though I am sure most have seen my bucket before. 1980 Bittersweet Yellow with Carmel interior. first couple of pics are the day I saved it from the crusher. last pic is how it sits currently in the garage redoing the brakes. Wash job did wonders to the car.
Cheers!

Before and after the wash job!
Thanks Guys!! There is zero rust in the car. been parked in a carport for 13 years. The motor runs good carburetor needs floats redone like to load up but for being parked 13 years I expected to rebuild it anyways. I was amazed when I heard it fire up after just placing a hot battery in it. Truly amazing someone was wanting to send this to a crusher. My buddy paid $300 for it I paid $500.00 for it and would have to say this ranks among one of my best buys to date!!

My pretty blue 79, in the process of putting a 1st gen lightning engine in it.
Big block going into the 80 cobra, with my friend's killer mullet
On way to get a new windshield, I rescued this car from the crusher. It had caught on fire and melted everything inside it.
My yellow 79 I got for free, it needs lots of work. Maybe a future project.
I'm envious that you have 3! But it's a good envy!

My '79. I posted it up somewhere on FEP before in 2010. I'm the 2nd and 4th owner, I let it get away back in the early 90's only to buy it back 20 yrs later to the month. 3rd owner only added a couple thousand miles to the car. I had contacted the 3rd owner about 6 months prior to this photo being taken, at that time car wasn't for sale, and I was told it wasn't driveable. My brother saw the car at a local gathering, so I went over to see if it was truly "my Cobra" and snapped this picture. At the time I wasn't sure I wanted it back, rougher around the edges than I remembered. A month later I found the car listed on the local Craigslist, I had asked the 3rd owner to give me a call should he change his mind, said he would. Found out later when I went to view the car/purchase that he had misplaced my number, figured if he put it online for sale I would see it. LOL. Fate played a hand, I wasn't even looking to buy, just happened to take a break from some yard work on a hot july day and after searching Craigslist for some tractor items I put in mustangs. Scrolled half way down the page and there it was! It had just been listed, I was the first caller, and I bought it back that same day.
5.0 Automatic, PS, PB, AC. Mostly original, I .30 over'd and installed a cam with a grind similiar to the '85 GT, edebrock intake, 600CFM holley with electric choke etc. That was 22 years ago when I freshend up the engine at about 110K. Car has 127K now. I bought the car with the orange stripe, not sure the story behind the stripe. I do know it was a one owner prior to my purchase in '88 and it had just turned 100K. I always wondered if the dealership had a left over stripe from a pace car decal kit and added it to "move the car off the lot". It makes mine unique. Not seen another like it.
1981 in original patina
I am back after a really long time.....had this car since 2001
she had a built 306 in it and ran low 12s with horrible 60fts, she is getting a 408w with full repaint and decals the paint i used in 04 was cheap crap and if you look at it funny it has a scratch.
