more progress,started welding in all those holes in the engine bay, moved the washer fluid to the inside of the fender, as well as the spark box and solenoid and voltage regulator,
however after reading what you guys are doing with the 3g alt I may go that route instead.
the other pics are kind of bad but they show how I cleaned and under coated the underside of the car.

Well well well. The Alberta clan is here.
I hate to dissapoint you guys,plus the foureyedpride members,but I have sold my Capri RS. I have left it to long and I will never get back to it. A guy has bought it to piece it back together and turn it into a driver. I have my F-150 that I am doing alot of work to but I am keeping my eye open for a 1986 Stang Vert as my next project. Oh well. I should have never took her appart working out of a single car garrage.

I dont have more pics yet but I thought I would post that the rear end is done the 3.73's are in and the 5 lug conversion is done on the rear,also hung the gas tank again last night.

got my gt40 heads last night, and I am taking the block in today to be bored 30 over,
should be able to start assembling the engine next week.

That engine looked exactly like my 5.0, dirt and all. Mine was the hardest engine to clean I have ever done!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Turned out nice though. Ill get pics soon.

thanks, yeah it was messy but I have a large dip tank at work I was able to dunk the block in, made short work of all the grease.

He found me on performance-shop.com but I will tell him about here. He is in Winnipeg.He picks up the car in two weeks. I have a bunch of stuff for sale left over from the build that I forgot about. I think he is a bodyman so this will be a good platform for him.
adrinfancystang.......What are your plans for this 85 Capri RS? My 85 RS is also from Calgary. I bought mine there in 2001.I'm from Cape Breton N.S ,but have been working out west since 95. Is your car from Brooks Alb.? I seen a white/grey 85 RS T-top 5 speed ,in the Alb. $5000 & under autotrader last summer,I think they wanted $3200 ,just wondering if this is the car? P.S You should get some t-shirts made with your Avator, I know I would buy them.

THATS HER!! I picked it up for 2300.00 it was my buddies car about 10 years ago till he traded it in for a newer stang in calgary.

That's a Rush! I buy autotraders/bargain finders, all the time.I am always on the lookout for 85/86 RS's. Sounds like you got a great deal. What kind of shape was she in? I was interested in this car,but never had the time to check her out? I'm happy to see she got a good home. Do you know the build date on her?
