    Default Heads on an 84

I am staying with the stock short block and just want a respectable ride power wise.

I have a street avenger carb and a stealth intake.

What heads fit an 84 engine using the stock short block?

    Ported e7's ? GT40's?

Just looking to have fun for the street, not the strip.

    Thanks Guys.

i would find a used roller block with at least e7 heads, they can be had for cheap and you would be alot further ahead power wise. those early ho motors arn't worth the time, mabey even get some explorer heads with a mild cam and wou would easily be looking at 270+ horse. cheaply...

I agree with a roller block, but if you're set on the block you have now, the gt40 or gt40p heads with a good cam will wake that engine up plenty.

Hmmm, I actually have a roller 306 that is set up for EFI right now. I could sell the cobra intake and mount my stealth and carb on it. Will that engine match the stock tranny?

If you bump up the power much, just go easy on that 7.5 rear. That will be your weak link...Or maybe it'll go another 100k, results vary.
