Default Difference in rubber center caps

I got some of the rubber coated 14 wheels to put on my work car and needed center caps. I posted on FEP and FoxChassis had a set and we made a deal. When I got them they were the flat style and the front ones wouldn't clear the dust caps on my Fairmont. So I modified the dust caps but didn't pound one of them enough and it didn't seat completely and vibrated loose to be gone forever.

Anyway, I posted again for another one and Old School Snake said he had a set, so I made a deal with him. Got them in today and they are just like the ones I got from FC except they are rounded instead of flat. They clear the dust caps on problem.

So my question is, did they make two styles for these wheels, which I doubt, or maybe different styles for different cars.

Flat one I checked has 4 different numbers cast in. The only one I could read clearly is E4DC-1A097-AA, the rounded one is E5ZC-1A097-BA.

Asthetically I like the flat one better, but function wise the rounded is better.

My 86 lx had the rounded style. I am not sure on a part #. I know I kept them because they were perfect, hafta dig them out. I gotta say, I never thought I would have a use for them, or anyone else. Maybe someone here is looking for another set.
