Thanks! I just realized this thread was started on 08/07/2007. Almost 8 years to the day! Good things come to those who wait and have patience!!!!

I'll snap some pictures of the car in a worthy setting and share as soon as I get it out of the shop.

It's so awesome to see this thing completed! Man, what a car - and as far as we know, I think it's the only Canyon Red '85 Dominator we've found. Super, super cool. Nice work, congrats on the finished product!

Going back and reading where you got the car from originally. I am fairly certain your car and my original Dominator crossed paths back in 1986. I remember vividly passing a canyon red 85 T-Top Dominator on highway 73 between Atchison and Horton KS(Funny the things that stick in your head!). We were going in opposite directions or I would have likely chased it down! You said you got the car originally from west of St Joseph Missouri. That would have been right in that area. I grew up in that area but had moved to KC by that point. Was back visiting when I saw this car.

Thanks all! Just got back from a hot weekend of camping so finally in a position to respond.

I appreciate all the kind words, it means a lot. I hope what we are doing gives some credence to the Dominator as a specialty car, but if it doesnt I will still enjoy it anyway.

This one did come from west of St. Joseph, Mo. (Atchison, KS, if I remember right it's been so long now lol) so definitely originally from Dominator country!!!

You'll have to let me know when you get the Dominator reunion scheduled again. This year the calendar is filling up, but next year.....

    Thanks again guys!!!

It is looking like I am, although with it being 450 miles one way and not having really road tested it a lot I most likely will trailer it out there, drive it onsite and the trailer it back.

I've put together a couple poster boards to help with the show/shine portion. One has a collage of pictures from start to finish of the project and the other is a collection of the ad's from Summit showing I didn't make the whole "Dominator" thing up. I also wrote up this to help explain what a Dominator is. Most of it is gleaned from various posts here on FEP..

Awesome! Be sure to take lots of pictures! Very nice writeup! There were only 3 Dominator III's sold. I have located two of the three. One 83, 84, and an 85. The 84 is the one we have not located.

Great info on the Stage 3's, I'll update the document. Also noticed I had a word misspelled so I better fix that too! Safe to say most folks, especially up here in SD dont have a clue what a Dominator is.

I will definitely be at the rally, pictures will be taken!

Made it to Sturgis and the Mustang rally! Cheated a bit though, as I trailered it out there lol. Not a lot of fox bodies or classics, it was truly dominated (pun intended) by the late model cars. I found some nice cars though and took what pics I could. Look at the last pictures, the newer "Dominator" was out there! The owner and I never did cross paths, as I am sure he was just as interested to find me as I was him! I was told 800 +/- cars were registered for the event, and another 200 or so that were just driving around town that hadn't registered.

Another one of life's mysteries.....why people with new cars think they belong in a show? I get the new Dominator wanting to be displayed to drum up some exposure and business, but is that a crappy 6 cylinder in the background? Lame.

I wish the Dominator creator luck, but trying to break into an already crowded market going up agains Shelby, Roush, and Saleen is going to be a tall order.
    Cheers!

Steve, here are the posters closer up. I put them together from different posts on this website and pictures of my car to help educate and show what a Dominator was, that it really existed and not something made up, and then to show the transformation of my car.

Pulled the Dominator out for our local carshow. Lots of compliments and questions, but alas hard to compete with those high dollar older cars. It was a HOT day but still fun to show the car off.
