Default Saw a Mustang Enduro GT Yesterday

For those of you who don't know, this is one of 3 (2 Red - 1 Blue) cars built about 81-82. Unhappy ending collaboration between Ford and Firestone. It has Large IMSA style fenders, pie cut front fenders, and a lowered front hood. Apparently the other 2 cars still exist also. One of them will go up for sale at (he thinks) a Barrett Jackson auction soon. This will be the sole Blue example. The other red car is apparently out east with a big sterio system etc. in it and owned by someone who doesn't appreciate it's rarety, although this could have some rumor in the statement. The pics from the show will post up on 6-24 and I will set up a link to this thread then. Pretty cool to talk with the owner, he has spoken with all the people who were involved in the project. Very cool piece of 4 eye history. The link will take you to a gallery of the car I saw yesterday as it is today. Now off to find that other red one......lol. http://www.mustangphotos.com/photopo...1/limit/recent

So you saw this red one in person? If so that is way cool! How did you run across it? Car show? What does the interior look like?

That red one has been on e-bay a couple of times and the blue one was on Auto trader for $30K a while back. The red one has been making alot of showes lately. It was at Nashville a couple of years ago and Carlisle.

Yes that is the show I was at yesterday, apparently some pics got up pretty quick somewhere, lol. Well, the red one is owned by a guy in my area. He had it at the Omaha Mustang Club Roundup yesterday. I spent quite awhile talking to him, great guy. I can remember the magazine articles on these cars back when. It was very cool to see it in person. The car is in great shape, the articles in the link give a good description of the car. He also races at the road course that is about 10 miles from where I live. It was a very cool encounter so I thought I would share it as best I could with the rest of you.

Thats friggin awesome. Im to young to have remembered those cars. And this thread is the first I have ever heard or seen of them. Hard to believe there were only 3 and that they all 3 are still around.
