    Default stupid 3.73s

well, finally got a chance to go to the track sunday since moving back here to nc. got 7 runs in but each one kept pissing me off. best run in tx-8.84 with the temp at 106. best run here was a 9.017 temp was mid 80s. I couldn't get traction in first and barely in second. my runs in tx was with 3.08s and now that I've got 3.73s I'm going to have to learn to get it out of the hole quicker. slicks and in my very near future. good news was that a couple of runs that I got decent traction with, my 60' finally went under 2.0. got one at 1.90. while not great, I finally got it under 2!!! did make me feel better in that one guy had a h/i/c combo with a built aod, 4.10s and a stall and he was only 2/10ths quicker.

Sounds like you need a driver mod.

no driver mod needed, just need to ditch the treaded street tires for some full on slicks or at least some drag radials.

yep, the car does need some suspension work. stock springs and probably the struts and shocks are too. the weight transfer is pretty good with the worn out struts. the wife got some video of me this time (sorry can't post it, still have an old high and the runs looked decent. gonna put the battery in the truck this weekend to help put some weight where it needs to be.

Without traction tires, the lower gears will be an impediment to you. I run a stock suspension but I use Lakewood slapper bars. I highley recommend them.

If your car is carbed, get the jet extensions with the notched fuel floats. They were worth 2 tenths in the quarter mile for me

I finally had a chance to put the drag radials on , have to say they really make a differance.
Went out last nite to get a couple of heat cycles in them , burn off the nubbs , Made 2 beautiful twin marks .....feels like it is really hooking .

keeps the jets submerged in gas.. when your trounce the throttle.. cars nose goes up, car goes forward, gas slams the back of the rear bowl, jets come uncovered, you run lean till the gas settles..
only use them in the rear jets obviously..
