    Default 3.8 Header Q.

Anybody know of a company that makes headers for the 3.8 in the earlier Fox 'Stangs? Mac makes some, but they are for the later 3.8 in a later (94+) chassis.

You gotta be kidding me...all this knowledge and noone knows anything about this? Guess 3.8s suck and I'll be adapting the newer headers to the older stuff. Girlfriend doesn't need a 5.0....3.8 is plenty.

You'll have to use the 94 and newer headers, I believe that is all that's out there. Stock Ford headers would be an improvement over the cast iron manifolds, and probably better quality than Mac.

There are a number of companies that make aftermarket headers for the 3.8 in 94 and up cars, but none that I know of for 4 eyed cars. You should be able to pick up stock headers cheap from a JY and will need the y-pipe too, or use 94-95 5.0 h-pipe for duals. I have seen numerous pairs on Evil-Bay, both stock and AM, and also on other mustang sites. I had originally built a 3.8 for my car and had a 95 for parts, but sold it off so now I am building a 5.0 that I had around too. They fit right on the older motors and are much better than cast iron manifolds. Good luck.

I had planned on using an 86-93 H-Pipe and dual set-up. But being that the 83 is carbed, I think I'll go with an aftermarket non-catted H-Pipe and the LX 5.0 after-cat exhaust. I'll be snagging a set of aftermarket headers here soon too. Slap a wideband into the stock O2 location and change jets based on what it tells me. That will be all the mods she gets...as she will still probably kill herself with those (she has never driven a rear-drive car, nor anything with a carb. Kids these days!).
