That is kinda neat, but I dont like how you would have to move the liscense plate.

    Default Dobi Dobi Doo

Old School is clearly one of my passions ---- so I often look at things that are before my time.

Interestingly enough, I saw one of these panels while I was evading the cold down at the house in Florida.

But what's more is that I collect old stuff ---- and somewhere (probably in mom's attic or the warehouse), I have some old catalogs from Sears and JCPenney ---- and I'm sure that I remember seeing these panels in one or the other.

    Here's the pic . . .

    13 Dodge Dart
    09 Shadow Sabre

Yea I will try to get down there before XMas. It has a 460/C6/9inch. it also has a pace car hood on it with the factory scoop glassed into it.The NOS detonated on it and cracked the fiberglass.Poor thing has been sitting for around 10 or 15 years now. When he parked it it was show quality.

I realize this was a long time ago but....
Was this car possibly tan with louvers on the hatch? I saw a beautiful 79 with that panel in Lee's Summit today!

Actually, the last date I can find an active listing for Dobi is around when these postings were made, 2007. I bought a dual exhaust system from them in January 1990 for my 1977 Capri II V6. The warranty card, that I still have-if not the car, is addressed to KBD, 320 Thor Place, Brea, CA, which is the same street address as Dobi used back when I ordered the exhaust. I did a Google Map search to get a street view of the address, and there's clearly a 'KBD' letter set on the building, but the map photo seems to be dated 2007, so I wonder if they're still selling anything from that address. I tried to track them down today because someone I know is asking about a set of rear windshield louvers for a first gen German Ford Capri (1970-74).

I think it's likely that Dobi has dried up and blown away entirely. It's a shame that we have so few examples of the aftermarket parts from our vehicles' era. Going through magazines of the time, you see how varied the market was back then.

I definitely remember seeing their ads in car magazines of the late '70s and early '80s, but I don't remember ever seeing one of those reflective plates on any car.

I bought flared fenders and front air dam and whale tail for my 74 Capri from them in l1977! They were good quality built sturdily built fiberglass parts. My vehicle (their parts installed via pop rivet, bondo, grins and paint "fit and finish" (and I) appeared on KNXT (KCBS today) "2 on the Town" episode: "The Mulholland Night racers" original airdate 1976 (re-run 77', 78, 79) DOBI catalog was the best (and only) place to obtain quality after market racing items for the Mercury Capri of the day! Im trying to locate a copy if anyone knows where I can obtain one?? a

Oh man I would give my eye teeth for a copy of that catalog! I bought my flairs, air dam, whale tale and sway bars from that catalog for my 74 Capri! Is there any chance that you might be willing to scan it and post (or send me) a pdf of the catalog? I'd greatly appreciate it! Thnx. marcm007
