Question future street values - 94 Cobra vs 86 SVO

Just wondering what you all think -

Will the street value for an 86 SVO be more or less than that of a 94 Cobra or visa versa?

I'm still looking at Foxes and have had thoughts of selling/trading the Cobra for another Fox - preferrably a notch and have been looking at SVO's again...

I'm not really looking for "collector value", I'm just talking regular street value if one were to sell again later in the future...

Well consider this, i was trying to sell my 96 Cobra(i think i've decided to keep it this time) for 13.5k with 36k miles. I'm getting zero interest on the car. It's a buyers market for SN95's right now.

It's just my opinion but I think that a lot of people don't really know what an SVO is or what is so special about it.

If you are looking for something with good street value if you were to sell again, you really can't go wrong with a Notch. Those things sell so fast around here it's not even funny.

This is why I like Capris.

Rare AND worthless!!! Sure we like them, but the rest of the world thinks its a Canadian Mustang or something.

To much hype associated with the Cobra name. SVOs have a much smaller audiance. I think that fair or not, the Cobra will always sell for more.
...That.. that doesn't work for me. I gotta have more cowbell!...

I would do better down the line. For Cobras, 93 stands out, 94 pace cars, 95 removable hard tops, 96 mystics, and so on. Sorry but I don't see plain jane 94 and 95 Cobras standing out.

I'm willing to bet it's much easier to find a nice, low mileage Cobra than an SVO. By that point in history, people were already starting to see that there may be a future collector market for special Mustangs, and they were starting to drive them less and store them more. Most SVOs were bought to drive, and driven hard. I think by numbers alone, a nice SVO will be worth considerably more than a nice Cobra.

The thing that is going to keep the SVO more collectible than the cobra is the fact that it is just so different than anything else out there. The cobra is a cool car but it also is similar in most aspects to just about any other V8 mustang of the time frame. There really isnt a close second to the SVO other than something like a turbo GT and only because the engine is similar but it didnt have all the suspension and braking mods.

Later down the line, not right now. Plus with cars like that, I would say 50%+ were garage kept low mile cars.

Default SVO vs. Cobra vs. something rarer

SVO's are cool, have a great following, and uniquely built cars. I suggest searching out a comp prep or one of the rarer colors there were also T-top cars and some from Budget rental units

Notch: You might consider a Saleen Notch? Why? There were only 59 produced over the 7 production years of 1987 - 1993. The majority of Saleen Notches were built on SSP special order chassis'. They are cars that have been flying under the Saleen radar IMO....I think a better investment than a SVO or '94 Cobra. When was the last time you saw one?
There is currently a Saleen silver notch on autotrader.com for $11,200, close to the current price of a LOW mile SVO or '94 Cobra.

    Production:
    1987-1
    1988-25
    1989-20
    1990-8
    1991-4
    1992-0
    1993-1

Just something else to think about.
