Default Work In Progress On '86 Capri Hatch

Everyone seems to be enjoying the '83 Mustang build by Mr. Joshua, as have I. So I thought I'd double your pleasure by posting the build of my '86 Capri. These are similar projects and we are both at the same stage of the builds. I think Mr. Joshua's build is coming along nicely and I can relate to what he is doing in a BIG way. I've posted a few pics of my build in the past but wanted to go more "in depth" with this post to bring everyone up to speed. Enjoy.

I've been sick with the flu for the past 3 days and haven't had the energy to work on the car, but if I feel better tomorrow, I'm going to try to get the front suspension out. Not much to see there, but when the engine bay and underside start looking good, I'll post some more pics.

I got the steering rack, sway bar, struts, springs, calipers/rotors, spindles and control arms out today. First I've felt well enough to go out and get some work done in awhile... been sick with the flu.

I absolutely love that paint scheme you came up with. That is awesome.

And I normally HATE white cars!

Why did you have to replace the radiator support area?

Thanks Mike. The reason I had to replace the top of the rad support is because the previous owner rear ended a truck and he had a lousy repair done to the front end. He "glop" welded a piece of flat stock on top of the support after he pounded it out with a sledge hammer. When I bought this car it had the hood and fenders off an '82 Capri and the front cover/air dam off an '84 Capri. It was quite a mess, I really should've replaced the whole rad support, but the graft turned out nice so I'm not complaining.

Looks great! The feeling of satisfaction that comes from having done just about all the work yourself is something no amount of money can buy. I never get enough of these build in progress pics, keep them coming.
