i was lucky, i found a donor 85 t-top hatch, for floors, t-tops, cowl panel, etc.. trunk was like giant swiss cheese, had lower pillar rot, 1/4's had some juice.. and i picked it up for cheap.. so it became the donor..
i kept the 83 because they're like hens teeth up here, as well as it being a hatch and t-tops..

Now that's a project that could keep a guy busy for a week-end or two!

Keep us updated for sure, I love following major projects like this. It goes to show that anything is possible if you set your mind to it.

For those who live where cars don't rust, around here a 20 year old rust free car is the same as an honest politician, everybody knows there is no such thing.

Your buddy is getting your steering wheel dirty.
He's going to remove the rest of the glass, right?
Nice choice on color btw.. Should look good with the black touches you mentioned. Keep the pics coming as you get em!

yup, he'll remove the rest of the glass, etc..
he's focusing on the enginebay, floors, cowl panel, A-pillars and t-tops for now.. then it's on to the rest of the car..

Oh dear god am I thankful for where I live now. Sure the direct benefits are nice and all but the intrinsic benefit of the weather not turning your car in swiss iron oxide is much better.

Now that is what I call a project!!

Now, since you have started this lovely thread, I want to see some pics of your Conquest conversion. That sounds sick as all hell, first one I've heard of.

T-tops are in place, have to be positioned and finish riveting..

Header panel is 100% in place.. test fit the windshield today as well, cowl panel needs to be smoothed and prepped then it'll be tacked into place for fitment w/ the fenders, hood, etc.. ..

    floors are 95% completed..

might actually see some fenders and doors on it by the end of the week..

Wow you've done so much to car. That's a lot of work but that will definitely pay off. I'd like to see that car in person when it's done.

Cowl got some more work done on it, as well as the engine bay, and a radiator support..

Some work on the rear 1/4, they're going to cut out all that mud and fab a new lower 1/4..

and one more full car shot..

Front bumper cover is sanded, few misc holes to patch and it's prep is done.
Engine bay will possibly be 100% done and primered tomorrow..
Doors will be sand blasted, patched and striped of paint/hardware..
Rear fender lips rolled, new hatch put on, and the rest of the old paint/undercoating striped...
Looking at possibly all in primer late next week?
