    Default tbi to carb

Has anyone gone back to a carb? Just curious if an "old school" engine could be made that could still pass an emissions test? I'm so tired of sensors, ecm, computer controls, vacume this and that that I could scream. I would kill for an engine I can work on that will still pass an emissions test.. Still have 4 years before the tld will be emissions exempt.. Arlon

There's a 78 fairmont wagon in the neighborhood that's real tempting..
    What? Another $100? Sorry dear....

Guess it would depend on the year of your car.
Manual-trans 5 liter Mustangs had a carb through the '85 model year.
If your car is '85 or older, you can swap in one of those if you keep all the Mustang-specific emissions hardware with it.
Don't know that it would simplify your life all that much though.
My '85 has at least as many vacuum hoses and stuff underhood as my '93...
